Ki West, The Movie

Ki West, the movie. Brought to you by Kajin Entertainment.

Got change for a kilo? This will be a common phrase after this movie is released I believe.

This is the story of an Army Ranger back in the days when many ran amok of their military duties. The Vietnam war was coming to an end, and military supplies were spewed all over the place - in the US and abroad. Officers had helicopters, planes, trucks, warehouses and much more available to them to buy/confiscate drugs, and get them back to the US in order to make huge profits.

Denny Banks was one such officer. He was known in certain cultures as the unofficial mayor of Key West. He and his people transported tons of marijuana into the states, and amassed huge piles of cash hidden around the world in banks of the third kind. He never hurt anyone, he was a professional, just trying to make a buck - which he did in exponential fashion. One day he woke up and said he had enough. Enough money. Enough of the business, and he got out. He wanted a home, a family, and a normal life.

Along the way his associates wanted to get into cocaine. Bigger paydays they said. He refused, on many grounds. Principles. Morals. Safety. And more. He was done with the drug industry.

It turned out to be not so easy. His associates took his infrastructure that he built, and inserted cocaine as their major product. Denny had nothing to do with it whatsoever, other than the methods that he had designed. He was not involved in the new business in any way. He moved to Florida, got married, had kids, bought a house - life was beautiful.

Then one day his house was raided. He was imprisoned. His home and family virtually destroyed in one day. What was going on he wondered. He soon found out that his associates got busted. They then turned states evidence against Denny, stating that he was the Kingpin of the cocaine empire they were building, even though he had left the marijuana industry some time ago, and NEVER once dealt in yayo. His world was turned upside down. It would never be the same.

He was sent to prison. His house and family gone. He was alone in this world. Then one day, an officer in his Ranger Unit came to see him. He was a good friend, and had tried to help him out - but he was shut out by higher officials, they wanted this man to suffer. They wanted to make an example out of him. And they did. The officer's name was Glen Richards, and he was retired now - but was kept on as a consultant. He was highly decorate and respected. He had earned many medals during his service to the USA. He was working on a very covert operation. He knew he need a lot of talent to pull this operation off without a glitch. He needed talented people with skills, experience, and probably most importantly - connections. Denny Banks was the definition of this need.

Not everyone was on board with this idea. When it comes to politics - you can NEVER satisfy everyone. It was then decided by a chosen few to let Denny 'escape', and become a fugitive on the run. So, while trying to do the Army's bidding in once and for all closing down the drug channels - he was in fact being chased by a different division of the military. He was a fugitive and a military narcotics enforcer at the same time. Life would never be the same for Denny Banks.

Denny was born and raised in Texas. A good athlete in wrestling and football. A pretty good student, who coasted through with a B average without really ever trying. He could have done much better at an academic level, but he was OK with it. Sports and having a good time were more important to him. He was smart enough to stay out of trouble. He knew he did not want a record, as that would cause him many problems in the future in terms of employment. Upon graduation, he knew he wanted to be something special in the military, so he studied the Rangers, the Seals, the Berets, the Marines - all of the above. After much contemplation he decided upon the Rangers. He became a very well revered Ranger.

Then the war ended. He got scared. What was he going to do for money. Go back to school? That did not appeal to him. He could not imagine wearing a suit and tie, punching a clock for corporate America. He wanted to write his own ticket, but how? During the military campaign he knew of many soldiers who would make a buck selling contraband, drugs, stolen items, etc. He asked questions subtly, a became quite knowledgeable about the infrastructure of the well known, but known - Black Market. He became a student of that, and eventually graduate into its ranks, selling exclusively marijuana. He knew the drug was not that bad besides all the propaganda the government tried to spread. He heard of law enforcement agencies infiltration college campuses, and if they were not already weed there, they would introduce it, and then bust people. He found this hard to believe, but people can not be trusted. Government can not be trusted. At least implicitly.

He knew that the black market channels, many of them, led to Florida. Denny could fly anything, and he got assigned routes bringing personnel and equipment back primarily to Florida. Florida is a large state. It is close to illegal markets. And with all the swamp land, there were a million places to land and store his drugs. From there, he then would move them to the larger state of Texas, his home turf. He knew a lot of people there, and some of his neighbors and high school friends that he had stayed in touch with had ties to the underworld. These relationships were cultivated. It did not take long, and his infrastructure that he buillt, would have earned him an A+ in any Harvard Business class. He knew Florida and Texas like the back of his left and right hand. From Texas he could move the weed to anywhere in the country. Texans were to focused on their neighbor Mexico, but Denny was already IN the US!
